Chances of getting dropped after pref
by: HIf you preffed two houses, is it possible to get dropped from both? And is that common?
#1 by: not if you rank both
If you have two pref houses and rank them both you are guaranteed a bid from one of them. 100%. If you have two houses and only rank one but are not high enough on that bid list to match before they reach quota then you will not get a bid at all. If you have only one pref house and put it down on your card you will get that bid.

When do the sororities select their PNMs for bid day? PNMs make their selections immediately after they complete their rounds. Is it the same for sororities or do they get to wait longer to make their choices?
How is a PNM guaranteed a spot if they are last on the bid list for both houses? It seems that if a sorority fills their quotas then it would be full for those at the bottom of the list.

Sororities only invite pnm's to pref that they would like to bid, so if you are invited to pref you are on the bid list somewhere. Sororities submit their final ranked bid lists after pref.
Pnm's who rank both houses are guaranteed a bid through Quota Plus, which places these pnm's with one of their pref houses even though it would put a house over quota.
After pref and everyone signs her card, quota is set and the bid matching process begins.
You have ranked your houses 1 & 2, and the sororities have ranked all their pnm's in order on their bid list. The algorithm starts at the top of a sorority's ranked list and tries to match with the pnm's who put them at 1. If necessary, the algorithm makes another pass down the bid list and tries to match with the pnm's who put them at 2. The bid matching process for a house goes until they reach quota. As soon as a house reaches quota they are done. If you are high enough on your 1's bid list to match before they reach quota you will get a bid from them. If not, the algorithm will try to match you with your 2. If you are high enough on your 2's bid list to match with them before they reach quota you will get a bid from them. If you aren't high enough to match with them either, you will be a quota addition to either house.
The algorithm will try to place you with your 1, but will also consider your place on both bid lists, the number of quota additions to place, and the membership size of the chapters. This is how you are guaranteed a bid if you rank both houses.
If you SIP and you are not high enough on that single house's bid list to match before they reach quota, you are out of the process and will not get a bid. No quota additions for SIP.
