Can you get a bid without rec letters?

Obviously will try but is it even possible to get a bid without rec letters? How much weight do they have if the person writing doesn’t know me?

People with recs are favored, some houses will drop you without them. Knowing people in the houses helps the most

tbh i got dropped with rec letters and being a legacy it doesn't matter here. do what you need to do.
