making a connection
by: IncomingHow many girls are expected to rush in the fall? What is your best advise on how to make a positive impression when you are among so many girls?

Don't doubt that when you are friendly and real you will connect with like minded sisters. It is almost impossible but try to put other people's perspectives out of your mind and go with your heart. You can look up each groups symbols and charities and show interest. Maximize your invites each day and tune out rumors. You will be great and end up with a whole house of potential new friends.

About 1000 girls are expected this year. Other than the obvious advice of getting rec letters, letters of support, natural photos...in on time: dress to impress, bring gloss and a brush for touch ups between houses. Smile and be interested in all girls you meet in all houses, have a couple of unique facts to share to help you stand out. Know a little about the houses and thank people for their interest in you. Pray

The best way to have a positive experience during recruitment is to be the most polished you can be under the what to wear guidelines. Be natural in appearance and your attitude. Be friendly and appreciative toward anyone you interact with whether they are in a house or a fellow PNM. You never know who will end up as your sisters!

There are so many strong points to be found here. Above all show respect and appreciation to each member of each house. You are not at a huge school where word won't get around. Every person in every house has worked countless hours to welcome you. No house wants a pompous behind. NONE...word WILL get around. Last year there were some girls that got no bids. Do not let your attitude defeat your progress.
