what is the best way to prepare for rush?

What would you advise an incoming freshman to do to prepare for rush? It is such a stressful and intimidating process and no one wants to make a bad impression. Any helpful tips would be appreciated.

Follow all the above plus don't have preconceived ideas of where you belong. Every school campus has different houses that excell and they change from year to year as members flow in and out. Good luck :-)

Solid advice on here. Main thing is to ignore rankings and don't go into it with preconceived notions. Keep an open mind because the sorority you may think you're going to hate may just be the one you love! I know because it happened to me and I couldn't be happier.

all of this is true and more. i've talked with greekchic too about helping out with registration and preparing. so far so good.

Get your applications, natural photos, Rec letters in to each chapter in a timely manner. Read the "what to wear" information that is posted carefully. Remember to wear classic styles ( nice brands if possible). Extras to bring during recruitment include a water bottle ( every year someone gets dehydrated and it is not a good look), flat slip on shoes for between house visits, some girls bring hand held fans plus a small mirror brush and blotting clothes. You are going to get HOT and emotionally drained. Think of unique things about yourself you can share during conversations to help yourself stand out among 1000 girls. Be honest with yourself about your personality and goals for your college years and hope to impress those groups.

This should help with all the basics you need to know. Relax and be yourself and if you follow everyone's advice you will have a successful experience. As you can see there are many girls who want to help you out.
