new sorority
by: sororityFor all the rumors going around about a new chapter: I have heard from many people that the new chapter will be Phi Mu. TCU 360 has an old article from 2011 stating that two new chapters were coming to TCU in Fall of 2012 and Fall of 2014. AOPi was obviously chosen for Fall 2012, and the next one must have been Phi Mu for Fall of 2014. You can look at the Phi Mu national website and it says they will be colonizing at TCU. It also states on the Phi Mu wikipedia page that they will be colonizing at TCU in Fall of 2014. I could be wrong, but from the looks of it, it will be Phi Mu. I personally think this is unfair to AOPi to bring a new sorority in so soon after they started though...

Thank you for sharing some real facts. I agree they are not giving AOPi much time to become settled if other group will start in the fall. Are school is growing so fast and with 1000 girls rushing last year we may need a new group so all who what to go Greek have a home.

Phi Mu would be a good addition. Each house is responsible for forming themselves and keeping relevant. There are some older houses that need work. If AOPi has members that dedicated they should be fine. They won't suffer from new house harrasment anymore. It may make them more appealing.

By then AOPi will be in their third year. They should have things together by then. Plus we had more girls than ever rush last year there were those that got NO bids even when they accepted all invites back. We have too many girls for our current houses. AOPi won't be the new house when Phi Mu comes so they should be happy because it will raise people interst in AOPi. The new houses always is the least desirable fair or not.

I could not agree more. when i went through rush, all who wanted to be a sorority were given a bid. It may not have been their first choice, but the person was able to make the decision. Unfortunately, at TCU great girls are being rejected. This is not the way it should be so. I'm glad to hear that a new sorority is coming to TCU.
