rushing as a sophomore

by:

I rushed earlier this year and ended up dropping after getting cut from the houses I was interested in. I am planning on rushing again next fall. How often are sophomores successful in getting the house they want? I have a lot of friends in the house, recs, and a decent GPA.

Rushing as a sophomore is really common. Each sorority has quotas they need to meet for each class year. Don't worry about what year you are!

My opinion is that it's much easier to get a bid as a freshman. If the houses you liked cut you as a freshman, they're for sure not going to like you as a sophomore. The houses that did like you as a freshman will be disgusted that you thought you were too good for them and will no longer like you. I think maybe your ego and snobbishness cost you lifelong sisters.

So true-you should have appreciated those that saw value in you...

No need to be so harsh ladies. The thing is yes a lot of houses will be bitter about your snuff so in that perspective it is easier to get bids as a freshman. HOWEVER, if you spent the last year making friends and connections with the house you were originally interested then maybe there is a higher chance of getting in this time around. I know a couple of girls who were originally pledging "lower" houses, and after a semester or two of socializing, they were accepted in the house they were most interested in. Good luck

Good advise but why do you want to join a house that rejected you before?

If they didn't want you before why would you even want to beg to be a member?
