rushing as a sophomore
by: byI rushed earlier this year and ended up dropping after getting cut from the houses I was interested in. I am planning on rushing again next fall. How often are sophomores successful in getting the house they want? I have a lot of friends in the house, recs, and a decent GPA.

My opinion is that it's much easier to get a bid as a freshman. If the houses you liked cut you as a freshman, they're for sure not going to like you as a sophomore. The houses that did like you as a freshman will be disgusted that you thought you were too good for them and will no longer like you. I think maybe your ego and snobbishness cost you lifelong sisters.

No need to be so harsh ladies. The thing is yes a lot of houses will be bitter about your snuff so in that perspective it is easier to get bids as a freshman. HOWEVER, if you spent the last year making friends and connections with the house you were originally interested then maybe there is a higher chance of getting in this time around. I know a couple of girls who were originally pledging "lower" houses, and after a semester or two of socializing, they were accepted in the house they were most interested in. Good luck
