Sorority COB Fall 2021
by: gofrogsDoes anyone have any idea as to what COB will look like this year (how many spots per house/what houses will be eligible to participate)? And more broadly, what does it look like generally/how does it work?

Hi! So basically Panhellenic sets a specific number for a chapter quota each semester and theoretically chapters can roll on and off that list based on if people drop and if they gain members, and just because they are below quota does not necessarily mean they have to do COB. Generally speaking, unless there is a large number of spots needing to be filled, chapters have there members submit people to reach out to before publicly posting about info sessions or even going into the list of people Panhellenic has to find new members.
The best advice I have is to make lots of friends and then if you feel like you would be interested in learning more or potentially joining a chapter you could let them know you are interested if they talk about COB. Historically, chapters that are frequently taking COB are (in alphabetical order): ADPi, AXO, GPhi, Phi Mu, and Sigma Kappa. I do know others have occasionally taken some as well, but sometimes they wait until the next semester to see if quota changes

Great explanation but correct term is Chapter Total, not Quota. Quota is something else entirely and people already sometimes don't understand it.
