How does COB work?

Yes! COB is the process of joining a sorority after the recruitment process has occurred. You can "COB" into any sorority that is offering spots for the fall/spring semester. Many of them reach out to you, but you can also reach out to them if you're especially interested. If they have openings, you will be initiated with a pledge class and join like everyone else. It's basically a chance for girls that went through rush and it didn't work out/never went through rush to join a sorority.

Cob is not another type of organized recruitment. It is up to the individual sororities to decide if they will offer additional bids. Not all will, and those that do are not likely to hold events, they will just offer them to girls they already know. If you know people in sororities then let them know you'd like a bid, and talk to panhellenic also. Your best chance of getting a bid though is fall recruitment.

Yes, you have to register and the person who commented below is correct. Years ago, I dropped out right before Bid Day because I didn't want to join the one remaining sorority I had and immediately signed up for COB simultaneously. Some months later I was then "recruited" by an acquaintance that I had in a different sorority and ended up joining that one. Hope this helps!
