how will we all get bids?
by: scaredhi:) there are about 1300 of us. idk how many girls are in each pledge class, but even if it were like 50, 12x50 is only about 600 girls. half the girls getting a bid. am i missing something? they keep saying if you do everything right and take every opportunity it’ll work out and you’ll get a bid. what if you don’t get one? how many girls drop the process or step away from it throughout the week? i feel like it can’t be enough to get everyone a bid. im so so scared. any thoughts?

I rushed two years ago and was nervous just like you! Honestly, rush is a great experience for some and the opposite for others. It can be wonderful and brutal. My advice-relax, have fun with it and be open to every house.
Quota is based on the amount of girls going through rush. 1300 girls is a huge number but with that many PNM’s, quota should be higher. A lot of girls drop out of rush if they aren’t invited back to their top houses and yes, in the end, not everyone gets a bid. Two girls on my floor didn’t and I felt awful for them. Our floor was very close and these two became honorary members of more than one house that year. We made sure they were invited to parties and felt included.
I wish I could give you a hug. Just know, I may be in one of the houses you are rushing this week and cheering you on! Relax, try not to stress and show the world the confident woman you are! You’ve got this.

Most likely yes. On pref you have a 99.9% chance of getting one of the two houses you have left. It’s pretty rare to get to pref and not receive a bid at all.
