fraternity rush questions

Have a couple questions regarding rush

1) Is it better to have quick convos (~3 min) with a lot of brothers, or not as many but deeper convos with a handful?

2) How can I tell actives/rushees apart? Is there anyway to tell before talking to them?

3) What would the actives like to talk about the most? I realized most of my convos with them are basically me running through a list of questions, then it's over. I'm kinda going at it at the angle of my intentions being learning more about the house and expect them to ask more about me. Should I just like chill with them instead as if they were my friends with no real objective?

4) Finally, should I reach out to the houses or wait for them to reach out to me? So far only 6/12 houses have reached out to me, so I don't know if I should wait for the others or ask myself
