Round 2 Question
by: pnm2021
Hi there! I’m a PNM and I’m so excited to rush!! I don’t know if this website is used for questions and advice but if it’s possible I do have a question!
For R2, I don’t have any events today and I only got invited back to 4 houses when I could’ve been invited back to 9. R1 is based off of our slides and is about why we want to join, our resume, our transcripts, and our photos. I know this is kinda odd to ask and very out there, but my GPA is 4.0 on a 4.0 scale with multiple honors and AP courses and my resume has a number of leadership positions and service and such, so does that just mean I’m not pretty enough to get a bid? I understand if so because I know I’m not the prettiest and I can’t afford the nicest clothes. It just hurts cause a bit because I feel like this is so up my alley and I would love to be in a sorority, but I feel very scared not that I’m not pretty enough or something. I just feel so lost and like i’m doing something wrong. Is it normal to get invited back to so few? Do I even stand a chance at getting a bid at all??
Anyways, maybe I’m overthinking it. Thank you in advance for any advice or thoughts! I appreciate it a lot :)

there are a ton of things that factor into who gets an invite back- namely knowing people in the house can play a huge influence! focus on the houses you have left and know it’s pretty common to only have a handful of houses left this round. you can definitely get a bid, just put your energy into the 4 houses & express your interest in the ones you love!

Omg, this broke my heart. DO NOT let rush make you feel less than you are! Its a huge process but unfortunately a lot of it has to do with who you know so that they may vouch for you! A lot of people get cut by majority of houses round one! Rush and sororties are great but if not, life goes on! some of the best people didnt make it through. its weird. DONT LET IT HURT YOU!
