Srats only take from some places?

I’m coming to TCU and rushing because I can’t wait to be a part of a sisterhood and to raise awareness for causes I really care about, but I see people saying that some srats only give bids to people from certain places (ex: I’m super passionate about ChiO work and philanthropies and the sisterhood they seem to have, but I see people saying they only take Texas girls) Is this true?? I thought it was about if you fit with the sisters?? Sorry I’m new to this but I’m worried now that if there is some sort of bias based on location that I won’t end up where I am meant to be. I’m sorry if this is confusing!!❤️

yes & no. yes, some sororities tend to have a lot of girls from certain areas but it is not the entire PC. Generally, all sororities tend to have a decent mix but some are more southern or west coast vibes.
Also, that’s great that you’re interested in chio already! Just make sure u are not focusing on one sorority- rush can be unpredictable so it’s best to go in with an open mind & you’ll find your place :)

Thank you so so much! This is very helpful!! I’m passionate about service in general, so while it would be nice to have a philanthropy I adore, I know I’ll be passionate about any of them!!

thank you so so much!! this is so helpful and good to hear!! and yes, i’m in love with practically ALL of the chapters if i’m being honest!!😂 i was just referring to like an example of one of the sororities that it seemed like people were saying had a certain location associated with them!!! But thank you so so much for your help!! i’m so excited to rush!!!
