rushing as a junior

by:

I participated in recruitment this year and got a bid, but they weren't my first choice and I don't know if I'm happy with it. Is it ok to rush as a junior? Will houses cut you just for the reason that you're a junior? I already went through recruitment my freshman and sophomore year, so is it worth it to go through recruitment again next year if I decide to drop?

I haven’t heard of that many juniors going through rush but I do know one girl and I think she had a good experience. Since you already took the bid you could see how you like the house you got until initiation and then you could decide to drop before initiation if you still feel like you don’t fit in. I know a few girls that didn’t like their house at first but once they started meeting more people in their pc they eventually found a group of friends they mashed well with so maybe give it some more time before you decide to drop but up to you.

I wouldn’t recommend it for a lot of reasons. Do you really want to be in a member class with people 2 years younger? Do you really want to be in member class meetings and study hours while the other juniors are doing other stuff? It’s a small campus, people will know you’ve done recruitment twice so may look down on a third time.
Besides, there are hundreds of girls in your house. It would be almost impossible to not find a group you relate to out of that many girls.

Do you truly believe joining THE RIGHT SORORITY will make you happy for life? What if THE RIGHT SORORITY for you doesn't exist? You'd be wasting ADDITIONAL precious time next Fall, in recruitment mode, STILL desperatly wanting to find THE RIGHT SORORITY. Cut your losses and stick with the one who wants you right now.
