by: HelpIf u r on both of your pref houses top list, will u get the house you list as your first choice? What if your second choice puts u super high on their list? Would you get them or would u get ur first choice since u r on their list and they r ur preference?

You will not get your second choice just because you put them second even if you were number one on their list. No cross cuts. Computer generated and it will match what the houses want. If they have 150 girls go through pref, they will list the girls in order 1-150 Quota happens to be 75. The computer will go trough and match the girls 1-75 with those that listed them 1st. You cold have girls that listed them 2nd so the number could go down to 150 most of the time it will go down to 100. So if you listed xyz as number 1 and you were 74 on the list and 25 girls ahead of you on the list went somewhere else you would get the bid for xyz. So you hope that you are high enough on the list and/or enough PNM's choose the other that they prefed. If you happen to be 76 on that list after the first 75 were placed you will be given your second choice even if you are their 150. It is simple but make no mistake that you will get the house you want and the house that wants you!, even if it is your second choice.

What if you only had one pref? Are you guaranteed a bid from that one? Or does it still depend on where you are on list?

i think if you only had one house left you’re basically guaranteed a bid. if you have 2 and choose to suicide bid that’s an entirely different thing. i don’t know of anyone who put all the houses they had left for pref & didn’t get a bid!
