I will be transferring in to TCU after Christmas. Will there be a way to join a house then so I can start as a Freshman?

It will be difficult to rush in the spring as a new transfer because spring is all about who you know. Do you already have greek friends here?

If you don't know anyone here yet, then contact the chapters and let them know about your situation and that you would be very interested in joining a house. They should be able to let you know if they will be offering spring rush. If they are, offer to come by the house and introduce yourself. You need to get a feel about whether it would be a house you want too. Good luck and welcome to TCU.

The last comment is one I wouldn't have thought of but might be the most helpful one on here. If you can get the correct information you will know which houses to focus on.

If you aren't going to know anyone until second semester you do yourself a favor and just wait until normal rush in the fall. You will have the advantage of knowing the houses and some girls but won't be left with only the houses that are doing spring rush. A lot of houses don't.

You'll be better to wait unless you can meet people quickly that happen to be in a house holding spring rush.

Contact the houses yourself and be open to asking questions in your classes. Most houses keep spring rush quiet and you do need to know people. Don't rush yourself though because there are Sophomores who rush.

You would do better to wait until the fall. There is plenty of time and you will know more about the groups.

Lots of good advice on this thread. Only you can know which option works. There are some pluses to rushing as a Sophomore. You will have formed your own opinion about each house and have a better feel for where you might fit best. If spring doesn't work don't give up.

Not to be discouraging, but if you don't know any of the girls here it may be hard to get a bid in the spring. The chapters don't advertise it and you have to know some one to be asked. Wait until fall and gain the real experience.

If you can get to know the girls in your classes and ask them about rush as springtime comes, you should be fine. Good luck!
