chi o

You often see on Greek Rank where Chi Omega is listed as the top chapter but when you read their individual ratings they sound rather mean and unfair. How are they really viewed on the TCU campus?

they aren't always necessarily liked by everybody but for the most part they are considered to be a good house. They probably have the greatest variety of girls due to their crazy rush which kinda sets them back though.

Please give more advise on this house. I am a legacy but it sounds like it doesn't matter with this chapter much and that they have a terrible rep for rush. I appreciate any honest advise people can give.

I think the only reason people say mean things about them is because they cut a lot of people very early on. They look for specific things, and do not waste time leading girls on if they do not think they are a good fit for the chapter. I was cut by them the first day, but every girl I have met in Chi O has been outgoing, friendly, and very academically focused while still having a lot of fun. If you are a legacy that will help, as it does in every house, but it is never a guarantee.

Chi-O is probably the hardest sorority to explain, they are a true melting pot. There are usually considered in the top 3 or 4 sororities, but only a small %, like 15%, of their chapter gives them this "top tier" name. The majority of the chapter is more like thetas or a-chios and hangout with fraternities like sig ep, pi kap, beta, etc. and then they have a ton of girls who hangout with no one at all. Very Academic focused. All depends on what you are looking for.

More than most houses a legacy is no guarantee of a bid with Chi O. I know a number of girls who were TCU XO legacies that did not receive a bid. I also know too many that were verbally promised bids and received nothing. They do push members toward high grades and standards but are not as popular as they were because of their dirty rush and awkward mix of girls. Give them a chance but be opened minded to other groups.

Comment 4 nailed it. Couldn't have explained it better.

Agree with the last statement that post 4 is truthful. Chi O is a real mystery and no your legacy will not necessarily do much for you.

Without being a member of the house a person can only give you their perception. I am not a member of Chi O but the girls I have met are smart and pretty. Some do come off thinking too highly of themselves but EVERY house has girls like that. I can offer no information into their Mumbo Jumbo Rush but they are a classy house!

All the comments on here are true but I must agree that post 4 is the most truthful. That doesn't mean Chi O isn't a strong house because they are. They just have a wide variety of members that on the outside is hard to figure out and from the inside makes their sisterhood a little fractured.

Chi O has been on campus a long time and has tons of alumni dollars. Their rush is impressive. They have used the phychology of making you think their superior by cutting tons of people the first day. If people think something is hard to obtain they want it. But their pre selection process lacks integrity and leads to a real mix of girls. Post 4 in on target with the breakdown. They are admired for their academics but are not the top of people's lists. A good house but Zeta is top. As for your legacy, lets just say you will know beforehand if it is going to help you.
