Is being a legacy considered an advantage?

Yes, being a legacy is helpful. You get you visit the house at least the second round. Most houses try to give legacies a edge but it never is a promise. Just like your mom can promise her house will fit you.

It's all the above: A proud gift from your mom
A extra visit back promise
An edge when things start getting tight
It can't get to a bid on its own, that's your job.

With 1000+ girls going through rush every advantage is valuable. Yes, a legacy is an asset. However, with so many legacies many houses could fill an entire Pledge Class with them. Every house is different but when it comes down to an either or situation a legacy can be the edge that wins the bid during such a high competition situation.

It is helpful. You are promised a second day invite and if things come down to a legacy versus a non legacy it can make the difference in a bid. Like stated before though it isn't a promise.
