Really difficult. The majority of the community is greek. My first semester there, I wasn't in a sorority at all, and I honestly found it really hard to make friends. Many girls are wrapped up in their sororities with their new friends and their mixers. My best advice would be to try bringing a chapter to TCU, or find a club/team to join! Or make friends in other sororities and go with them to their events. It's going to take a lot of effort, but you can do it!

The vast majority of girls are greek so to be associated with a group not on campus will be difficult. Anyone who would advise you differently would not be telling you the truth.

If we don't have your house it will be hard. Greek is a huge part of social life here. Hopefully you can meet some girls and they will invite you to what socials they can. There also are major groups you can join or Christian groups. They are nice options but not the same.

This maybe a over reaction but it would be hard to encourage someone to come here that would be independent. TCU is greek obsessed. Unless you could befriend actives who would invite you then you would be left out of the majority of social events.

You will need to get involved with some other type of organization and try to meet greek people who can include you on the invite list. Otherwise it will be very socially tough here...

This will be tough! There are lots of other groups on campus. Hopefully you can meet girls that will invite you to their chapter events. Greek would be hard to be excluded from here.

Honestly, don't listen to these people. Yeah, it will be hard, but it isn't impossible. You just need to make friends with people through other organizations and then you will get invited to their events without having to pay dues and all that. If you were in a top tier sorority at your old school obviously you've got things going for you, so you aren't going to have a problem making friends. Just be yourself, get involved, and you'll be fine!

Despite the discouraging messages on here you can do just fine at Texas Christian U without having your house. You will need to become involved in another activity so you can meet people. People can and do invite others to their greek events. This is a great school.
