deciding between tcu and smu

im a girl deciding between tcu and smu for next year and i just wanted to know some differences between the people, vibes, sorority/frat scene if anyone has any info on that. thanks !

SMU is better than TCU academically. SMU campus is beautiful while TCU is not pretty. SMU offers more financial aid than TCU. SMU has a much better social life. Dallas is great. Fort Worth is not. Easy choice, SMU all the way!

smu is a work hard play hard school with lots of wealthy kids who are also smart. tcu is pretty similar but a little more low key. Tcu is bigger so it has more greek organizations, but Greek life is strong at both schools. Both are good picks. Tcu has better athletics, but smu has better alumni networks.

I"m in the same predicament. I like both schools. As a person with a learning difference, I keep hearing that TCU is more accommodating and inclusive. Right now my gutt is saying TCU.

I have mild learning difference too (auditory processing).TCU is a great fit .You have to work with the student services and really learn to advocate for yourself, but if you do that, you'll do well here.

smu is much harder socially and demands more focus on appearances, wealth, and social life. there is plenty of that at TCU but here you're less likely to be looked down on if you don't place the same importance on those things. the same applies to rush

TCU is much friendlier and less of that old south money. People here are much more inclusive and care less about your appearance/money

Having fall rush at TCU is a big difference and helps you socially. TCU has better sports.

SMU is better academically and considered more prestigious. Fewer sororities and a lot more snobby.

TCU has way more majors, is known more nationally and has a small campus compared to a stare school but is more inclusive. Frogs all the way!

SMU vs TCU is and easy choice. SMU is better academically , the campus is much nicer than TCU, and Dallas has it all over Fort Worth.

SMU has it all over TCU. SMU is a better environment. Campus is beautiful. Perfect size. Delayed rush until January which helps students adjust to college life. Dallas is much nicer than Fort Wirth. Dorms are nicer. Fun social life.

Both schools have some pluses. But SMU does not "have it all over TCU."

It must be the same person posting over and over again about the academics. The two schools are about the same for admissions. There are some real under-achievers from my high school who ended up at SMU (I think most of them are majoring in fashion-related marketing, for what that is worth).

SMU is probably much more Greek-oriented than TCU, but that can ultimately be very limiting on meeting folks outside your comfort zone (which is what happens after college).

The folks I know who went to TCU were definitely more mellow and probably more academically oriented.

Outside of Texas, TCU probably has a better reputation, due more to SMU's reputation of just being a school for spoiled Dallas kids.
