How hard is it to get into a sorority with a low gpa?
Is it embarrassing to rush second semester?

Depends on how low the GPA is. You would be cut first round for GPA, but it could place a factor in rankings and such. Its not embarrassing to wait, but i would advise to wait a year. Not every sorority does spring. If you like a sorority and they do spring then definitely do it!

I would recommend that you spend this year working on your GPA, learning which study habits will work best for you and take advantage of all that TCU has to offer in helping you achieve these goals. You will also have an opportunity to get to know the sororities on a more personal level and be better positioned for recruitment next Fall.
