northern pnms
by: PNMHey! So I'm from the north and I was wondering how hard it is for girls from northern states to get into a sorority. I heard some only want Texans? Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

The chapters here that are not as welcoming to girls from the north are DDD, Chi O and Kappa. They are mainly looking for Texas girls. Zeta, G Phi and Theta are all great houses that have more girls from the north. Pi Phi and DG lean to West Coast...There are always exceptions. You won't have any trouble!

With half the student body now from out of state things are changing. However, Tri Delt and Kappa are still fixated on Texas girls. delta Gamma and Pi Phi are heavy on west coast girls...strong houses that seem most welcoming to northern girls are Theta, Gamma Phi and Zeta. The first to are more academic while Zeta is more of a party heavy group. Be yourself and you will find a great house.

To comment number 20 "the way it is"- I was an officer in one of the sororities you mentioned and our alumni do not pick the girls we want. I think this page should be informative and factual. I do not know the way other sororities conduct their rush so I simply won't comment on it. Girls might be coming here for information so be selling your own sorority not bashing/making up assumptions about others. Woohoo rush!

First off, 50% of TCU students are now out of state so you will find a great house! It is true that Kappa, Tri-Delt and Chi O seem to place a higher importance on girls from Texas/South. Delta Gamma and Pi Phi seem to focus on the West Coast California girls... So give them a chance but you will likely find Gamma Phi Beta, Zeta and Theta the houses where you will be most surrounded by sisters from the North. Just be yourself and you will have no problem.
