northern pnms

Hey! So I'm from the north and I was wondering how hard it is for girls from northern states to get into a sorority. I heard some only want Texans? Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Some of the sorority houses are pretty fixated on girls from Texas: DDD, XO and Kappa but even these houses have exceptions. If a house holds where you are from against you they aren't going to be kind on lifetime friends you are looking for. You want a house that respects you and is proud to have you as a member.

Mostly Tri Delt. Kappa wants girls from the south. Theta/G Phi/XO have a lot of California girls, but also quite a few from Illinois/NY/Oregon/Wisconsin. DG/ Pi Phi are very Cali/Midwest ish.

The post above is on the mark. A house shouldn't hold your home state against you. Look closest at the one listed above that are more open minded.

The second post is the most accurate. There are strong houses who do not count a home state against you. Que in on these and you will find a perfect fit!

To not be considered by DDD or Kappa is no huge lose. There are lots of better houses on campus.

All our houses have girls from all states. You will likely find G Phi, Theta, Pi Phi have the most girls from the northern states. They are all wonderful houses. Be your best when you go through every house and there is no doubt you will find a house full of sisters for life.

Don't count yourself out on any house but the post above does mention some excellent houses that have more northern girls.

You want a house that cares about the real you not something so arbitrary as what state you are from. Cue in on the houses listed as welcoming to northern girls. They are some of the strongest houses because they choose great girls on who they are not where they are from. Good luck!
