cuts?
by: freshHow do sororities choose what girls to cut? I feel like so many times really nice girls who have awesome convos still get cut and I guess i’m just curious as to how houses approach that. Is it really just because other girls were somehow better??

Some houses have the ability to cut so many women that if you don’t stand out to them then it’s really easy for your name to get lost in a sea of other names. It’s nothing personal, you may have had a fine conversation. But if a chapter member isn’t willing to specifically fight to keep you, it’s easy to get lost in the crowd. That’s why it’s so important to truly be yourself and find something about you that will make you unique, and the right house for you will notice and keep you around.

This really gets into the realm of membership selection, which is secret. But in general, some of the stronger recruiting chapters have to cut so many (especially in earlier rounds) that if members don't already know you, you're not a legacy or you don't make a huge impression at their party and beforehand in your recs, application, social media etc., you'll be cut. It's purely a numbers thing and not personal. We simply can't bring back every single person we love each round because we are only allowed a certain number, and it isn't s reflection on you at all.
