2018 ranks (social vs academic)
by: Real talk
Incoming ladies going through recruitment, all of the TCU chapters are great and each one contributes to our Greek Community in a different way. However, I think it’s safe to say that PNMs are looking to join Greek life for two reasons either the social aspect or academic support and I don’t think it is fair to compare the two types of chapters. Here are the ranks for 2018 based on what is seen after recruitment is over. Also, all our chapters have smart girls and social girls, but this is based on the overall vibe of the chapter.
Social (based on mixers/socials/etc.)
ZETA
DG
PI PHI
DDD/KAPPA
SK/PHI MU
Academic (based on grade reports):
THETA/CHI O
AXO
ADPI/G PHI
AOPI

Serious question,I don’t pick my friends based on GPA so why is this so important?
I don’t meet someone, think they’re great & then wonder hmmmmm wonder what her gpa is?
All houses have minimum gpa requirement, so if this is important to you, you can find smart girls at any house.
Most girls join sororitys for social aspects, and I think emphasizing gpa’s sounds like a desperate way to “sell” a lower “ranked” house.
But hey, whatever works for you.\n\n\n\n\n

Good point, but I think academics deserves some mention. If you have a tough major like biology, chemistry, or nursing, you may not able to have a full social calendar and drink as much because you can't! Especially those on academic scholarships. All those that rush do want to make like minded friends, have fun, and have a strong sisterhood. It is not just about the parties, and this website puts a lot of emphasis on this and good looks in its so called rankings of top houses. There is so much more to a positive Greek experience and making lifelong friendships.
