rush
by: TCUfreshmangirlThere's a lot of posts on here about comparing the sororities... But i'd really love to know more about rush. Past experiences, advice, what to wear, or anything else you'd want to share about it for an incoming freshman. thanks!

Lots of good posts on here! As others have said before be appreciative and open minded in every house. Try to be yourself (Everyone understands this is hard because you are hot, anxious...) but let the girls see your real personality. Pretend to be someone you aren't and you will regret ending up in the wrong house. You has lots of amazing houses here. Go with your heart.

Remember you only get to rush once so try to enjoy the experience. Be natural and respectful to EVERY house. This is the only way you and the house can really know if you click. Put ALL assumptions about a house away and be open. Helpful hints: Wear shoes you won't die in while you stand all day. TCU is a superior school so dress with class, it gets REALLY hot so a hand fan is good while you wait in line...Don't think you are too good for any house...There will be close to 1000 girls rushing so remember ALL houses have a choice on who they welcome back. Finally, put down every house you are left with on bid day...if you don't you may end up with NO house! Going Greek is the way to go at TCU so on bid day be excited to start a new life making lifelong friends:-)

The first bit of advise is have fun! It is a stressful and hectic week but you only get to do it once and at the end of hopefully have a house full of new friends. Even though the situation is not normal, try to be yourself so you can fairly judge where you feel the most welcome. If a house you thought was going to be your first choice cuts you don't be discouraged. Focus on the houses that invite you back and appreciate their interest. Try to stay hydrated and keep your energy up as best you can during the long day. The best news is all out houses are stellar. A "bad" house here would be premium on another campus so you can't go wrong.

The girls in each house are on their best behavior. If you feel unwelcome during recruitment you do not want to join a house. Remember your goal is to have friends to go to socials with, study with and share your life with. Look for genuine girls. They have to impress you too.
