I love everyone commenting on here about how "weak" KD is nationally. They have the most alumni groups out of any NPC chapter and have tons of strong chapters. They could definitely use a bit more geographic diversity, and they're definitely not as widespread as Kappa, Theta, or Pi Phi, but EVERY sorority has strong and weak chapters. There are schools where nationally "strong" chapters are bottom and schools where nationally "weak" chapters are top. But as long as the university they colonize is open and welcoming, and the sorority has the resources to support the colony, there's no reason why a chapter shouldn't be successful. Besides, we all know this top/bottom tier stuff is crap anyway.

I'd love to know your source for that info. Seems like a weirdly specific thing to say without any public national policy to prove it.

The pnm interest numbers may not hold here for three groups to eventually colonize. And I believe no NPC group has definitively committed to any TCU colony three years off. The only time that type of colony stack has worked recently is at NCState, when four groups were chosen at one time to colonize at even distances over a decade.

Kappa Delta has the most alum chapters because they anoint and recognize such chapters despite the tiny number of women in them. A KD alum chapter can have as few as one member. There are a number of groups who do not recognize an alum group officially unless said group has a much larger minimum number of members.
