when do sororities turn in their bid lists?

1. Yes. Panhellenic will let the chapters know how many PNM's filled out Pref cards after the parties and Quota is basically that number divided by the number of chapters. The chapters submit two bid lists - the first one is top pick PNM's in no order (anyone on that list who ranks the chapter #1 will get a bid) and the second one is in a very specific order as Quota will be filled somewhere in the second list (i.e., if 20 pnms on the 1st bid list ranked another house #1 and matched there, then the computer will match the first 20 pnms on the second bid list who are still available).

2. The President, Rush Chair, and chapter advisor usually get their bid list back very early in the morning. Chapter members will find out later today.

3. Quota Additions are not a set number like primary Quota is. After all the bids are matched, there will be pnms who didn't match anywhere because the Pref chapters they attended made quota before their names came up on the bid list. If those pnms maximized their options at Pref by listing every chapter whose Pref they attended on their card (no "suiciding") then they are hand matched to one of their Pref chapters as a QA.

4. Snap bids ONLY occur if a chapter fails to make primary Quota. In that situation, they'll get a call in the middle of the night to learn how short they are from Quota and they can choose to snap bid pnms who withdrew earlier in the week. PNM's who suicide are not eligible. Snap bids must be accepted before Bid Day begins. This is a very "hush hush" situation where only a handful of chapter execs and the pnm receiving a snap bid will know the chapter didn't make quota during bid matching. If the chapter is able to snap up to Quota, they will show as having made Quota.

COB is how chapters who are below Chapter Total (a number set by Panhellenic that is approx the average number of members) can extend bids to pnms to get their numbers up to Total. It has nothing to do with who made Quota during formal. Most chapters will not need to COB. Depending on how many members short of Total a chapter is, the COB process might vary- i.e., a chapter that is 2 under may directly extend bids to 2 very close friends of actives while a chapter that is 10 under will probably choose to have a few informal, invitation-only events where they allow pnms to get to know the chapter. PNM's can COB if they withdrew or were released from formal rush, if they suicided on Pref night, or if they have not rushed before PNM's are not eligible if they declined a bid this year or if they drop from the house they pledged. PNMs can sign up through Panhellenic BUT events are invitation only.
