are sandals an option?

by:

Is it a rule that we have to wear closed- toe shoes during recruitment this year? Aside from tennis shoes, I don't own anything appropriate for summer. Can we opt out?

So why does anyone care what we wear when we are walking? I'm not trying to be rude, 'm just trying to understand. So the sororities are okay with us wearing open toe shoes? Please explain.

It's because there's lots on construction and they don't want anyone hurt. Wear your comfy closed toe shoes between houses and change before you go in. Everyone else will be doing it. It's no big deal.

If you have trouble following a simple rule designed to protect you, then sorority life isn't for you. We have rules. Lots and lots of rules. If you can't deal with that then you'll be better off a GDI.

It's not ridiculous, it's to help protect you due to the construction. There are a lot of rules in sorority life. If you have a problem with that, then sorority life isn't for you.

This was not always a rule which says someone must have gotten hurt. You don't have to wear the same shoes outside that you do inside the houses. Maybe a sneaker for closed toe outside and a heel or sandal to throw on before entering the house would work if this is a concern. You want to be confident. Wear your shoes ahead of time no matter what because blisters while walking and standing all day is bad. Bring blister pads too.

Is it that much walking? What about people with crutches?

Are you on crutches? Then you don't need yo worry about it fo you? Accommodations are made for people who need them wear your freaking closed toe shoes between houses or enjoy a life as a GDI if you have trouble following rules.

The reason the whole closed toed shoe rule was implemented was because of all the construction. Pretty much all the pnms last year would wear closed toed shoes (think something you can slip on/off really easy) and would change their shoes as they lined up outside a house. You'll have a little bit of time before each house to powder your nose or brush your hair or something but pretty much everyone used the time to change shoes.

Wear sandals into the houses and change into tennis shoes when walking. It's a pain, but it ends up being fine.

regret? probably not. If she brings up your sororities value in the eyes of frats, you probably don't care that much if she is a pain in the ass. it is what it is

Yes it is a pain but it's still kind of a construction site. You are the first ones to get to live in the new Greek community. Just deal with it for 5 days because you get the benefit of the construction for 4 years.
