do grades matter
by: Southlake PNM
Hi y'all,
Just a girl from Grapevine wondering what's up with grades. Like, I as checking out Gamma Phi Beta which is supposed to be all about academics. The report says they are 7th. I worked really hard in high school and don't want to make a mistake with a house that doesn't take grades seriously. Advice? Please!?!?

All houses at TCU have a really high average GPA compared to other schools. In each house you'll have girls that are all about grades and girls that care about going out and other things too. Gamma Phi is known for having girls with a lot of hard majors in their sorority. The ranks for GPA change every semester though so it just kind of depends. But during recruitment just be honest and tell the houses you really care about your academics and you will end up in the right house

For grades the best houses are Theta, Chi O, ADPI and AXO. Theta and Chi O are known to have more easy majors to keep their GPA boosted. They are always the top two for grades. AXO and ADPI have harder majors like science and business. However just go with your gut during recruitment

Hey girl!! I totally get that you are looking for a house that takes grade seriously, that was very important to me too. I mean yes, gamma phi is 7th in grades but the difference between the top house & gphi is literally 0.104 which is really not much of a difference at all. I'm a gphi and trust me, we do take academics seriously but we also have a lot of girls with hard majors and very busy schedules so just keep that in mind :) see ya soon!

every sorority has girls that only focus on school, and some that don't as much, and then a huge range of people in the middle. all of the GPAs are within a point of each other, and we all got into the same college. grades are important to (almost) everyone here.
don't pick your sorority based on the GPA ranking, they're basically the same. go with the house that makes you feel the most comfortable.

There is literally .104 difference between GPB and #1. That's statistically insignificant especially when you consider some of those current highest GPA houses have lmore members with easy majors like communications. You sound like the same girl who keeps coming on here trying to cut GPB down but you're pretending to be a PNM to be stealthy. Sorry you resent them for being a top house that you got dropped from, but you need to get some professional help with this crazy obsession with them.

This topic is so moldy already. Do you really only hang out with people who have exact same GPA as you? If so, then you will need to bounce from sorority to sorority because it changes. However, the sororities that tend to have high GPAs tend to have a bunch of Communications and/or Theatre majors, and they get easy As. Relax. If you pay your tuition on time, go to class and turn in your papers, you should do okay. This school doesn't stay in business flunking people out.
