recruitment attire
by: NewbieI know we need to follow the guidelines for attire that are posted on Greek Life. My question is how important are brands. Thank you for any helpful tips.

it depends on the house. i didn't wear any big brands and i got in a top hous and i can say the same for a lot of my friends (in my sorority and in others). to be honest, if youre smart, well-rounded, pretty, and kind it doesn't matter at all what brands you do or don't wear. some girls wear big brands to show off their money and some houses (DDD and Zeta come to mind) are usually responsive to that but most houses don't care about what you're wearing (and certainly not WHO you're wearing) as long as you're a strong PNM. (im assuming you're a PNM). Don't focus on this little thing--you should be confident in who you are and what you have to offer no matter how expensive your clothes are!

I believe all houses care about your overall appearance so wearing classic, well put together clothes that follow all the guidelines matters. I don't know anyone who didn't put time and effort into this. It's Clinique but you never get a second chance to make a first impression and clothes are a part of that impression. High quality brands are the norm no matter what people put on here.

I wish people would use this site to encourage people. Yes, there will be a lot of ladies wearing expensive brands during recruitment (and always) at TCU but please focus on what clothes make you feel good about yourself more than that. Everyone says classy which I agree with but do not be someone you are not. Choose the style, cut and brand that fits you best. Clothes matter but not as much as being pulled together, being well spoken and friendly.
