without being a legacy or recs
by: curiousCan you come from out of state into recruitment without Rec letters or being a legacy, or any in house connections and still have a chance of getting into the house of your choice?

There are houses that will immediately drop you without a rec. Why would you put yourself in that kind of position and limit your choices? Agree you should start looking for rec writers now. Ask everyone you know if they, their mother, their sister, their wife, friend etc. are a sorority member. Then contact your local Alumnae Panhellenic organization to line up recs for the houses you can't find on your own. You will be shocked by how many sorority women you know.

Do not risk the REC letters. They are not hard to get with a little effort. Get your mom, aunts, sisters, teachers , coaches to help find writers from their houses or connections as well.
