watch what you say to your rho gamma

by: reminder

Just a reminder that you need to really watch what you say to your Rho Gamma. Do NOT give any opinions about sororities. Ask very professional questions.

This is wise advice no only when dealing with your Rho Gamma but throughout the process with everyone. This is not a time to bad mouth anyone. You are looking for a home and the actives already have one. Treat the situation that way and you will have a much more positive outcome.

Remember everything you say can and will be reported back, regardless of what they tell you. When you don't like a sorority, say NOTHING. If your rho gamma tries to get you to talk about your feelings and impressions, don't say anything.

I learned this the hard way. Be careful what you say. They seem nice and they are. But they are reporting everything you say.

Rho Gammas are nice and give up a lot of their summer to hold this position. Even though they are not supposed to be unbiased they can't help but favor their house so just ask them general questions, stay polite and keep things positive.

Who cares that they give up their summer? That isn't the point. The point is that they do NOT keep what you say confidential and they go back and report everything to their house and even other houses. Girls need to be sure not to say anything at all that is an opinion to their rho gamma.

If you need to debrief with someone about your feelings and impressions do it with someone not on campus. Call a sister, friend, aunt etc. Do NOT say anything remotely judgmental to your Rho Gamma. NOTHING!!

Always imagine your Rho Gamma is a member of whatever sorority you want to talk about. That should help you put it into perspective. Also, just so you PNMs know, you're going to be completely shocked about some of the sororities your Rho Gammas are in once they are revealed. It will be an eye opener when you're trying to guess based on dumb stereotypes.

Not trying to make anyone paranoid but this is something PNMS need to be aware of.

Unless you say something horrible to your Rho Gamma you are fine. Be positive and professional. I think people are scaring PNMS on here.
