I would suggest wearing a closed toed flat (easily slip on off) walking to and from houses. and then the sandal you actually wanna wear into the houses.

This is a good plan. I don't think anyone will judge you for wearing closed toe shoes though. It will be the smartest safest thing to do and many other PNMs will be doing the same thing.

It's only while you are walking outside. You should bring your heels, sandals etc. to change in to when you enter the houses.
