It's not that we're being hypocritical it's that we don't want to take a girl that brags about going out because if that's how she spends all her time she becomes a standards issue and no house wants to deal with someone sloppy that has to be sent to standards all the time and raises that houses AV or DV count every year

Dear dumb freshman, you tried to make your point many times in the post below. Please feel free to go out to parties during recruitment. Be yourself. You will pay the consequences.

Sororities are full of rules and requirements. There are lots of times where you will be required to do things for the sorority when you'd rather do something else. If you are not willing to forgo a couple of nights of parties to concentrate on recruitment then you're not the kind of person who will do well under the sorority structure.You're much better off as a GDI, which is what you're going to end up. It's all your decision.You can argue and cry all you want here, but that's the plain truth.

You will understand all of this when you are an active. Except that you never will receive a bid to a sorority.

PS No one wants to end up with the freshman drunks who end up getting us put on sopro.

PNM's: You are new to this and you don't know what you don't know. After you have gone through rush yourself as a PNM, then again on the other side as a first year active, you will be in a position to judge if the Panhellenic recommendation to not go out during rush week is good advice or not. Right now, you are little bitty babies just starting out with no experience and no idea what rush is like or what the next year in Greek life will hold for you. By the end of August next year, you will be in a better position to judge us hypocritical or not. For now, there are many, many sisters and alumnae who have seen it all and are trying to help you out.

I don't agree about the going out thing. But I do agree about the GPA. I have a good GPA, but I think it is sill that sororities make such a big deal about it. A high or low GPA is more reflective of how hard or easy your school was, or how hard your classes were, or if you kissed ass to teachers, or if your helicopter mommy threatened to sue. GPA has nothing to do with intelligence or hard work. It shouldn't be used a way to judge people.

Also there is literally nothing hypocritical about this. NO UPPERCLASSMEN WILL BE GOING OUT THIS WEEK. All of us are required to keep going and practice more way after you have been done. I'm talking one or two in the morning and then being required to be back the next day at eight am with full hair and make up. So please stfu
