anxiety and recruitment
by: froggerI suffer from anxiety and I am worried that I will be overwhelmed with the recruitment process. Any advice?

somebody posted almost the exact same thing a couple of days ago. You might want to scroll down and look for it.
recruitment is really intense. especially the first two day. there is a lot of noise, shuffling, weather conditions, tight spaces etc...
You should probably talk to your doctor and find out if meds are appropriate for you.
If not, you could wait and try to join Phi Mu, because they will be doing it more casually.

I have anxiety too. Rush was a bit difficult for me, because of the crowds, noise and heat. But I did get through it, and I prepared myself ahead of time by talking to my doctor, managing my meds, drinking water, trying to give myself physical space from the crows (without being obvious). It was hard. For me the toughest part was the sharing a room after a long hard day. If I could do it over again, I would probably arrange to have a private hotel room for myself (but that is just me and my triggers). I did manage to get through rush without a bonified panic attack. Something I'm still amazed at. And I love my sorority, so things are good.
You really need to figure out what your threshold is. You are really lucky, because Phi Mu is an option, and you can skip formal recruitment.
I wish you luck!
