can other sororities really find out if you still have your legacy houses after certain days? I had a pretty good rush with the highest number of houses you could go back to each day but then the day after skit day, 4/6 of the houses I had dropped me for what seemed to be no reason. I still had 2 of my legacy houses, do you think they dropped me bc they thought I would go with one of my legacy houses?

This happened to me as well. Recruitment was going along great but I was suddenly dropped from all but my legacy houses mid-way on the same day. I know I shared my Panhellenic connections with the women who wrote recs for me and I'm sure that information was passed along. I was lucky my legacy houses were at the top of my list so it didn't matter in the end. If I could do it over, I would protect that info for only the houses where it mattered. PNMs, guard the legacy details.

Yes, there are a lot of different (but unofficial) ways we can find out and you are likely to be dropped if you're someone else's legacy even more so as recruitment continues.

Your legacy details are part of your REC info so all the houses know this before you even step in the door...Will try hold it against you??? Depends on the house...

The later in recruitment it is, the more likely you are to be dropped if we find out you still have your legacy house in the mix, especially if it's a house we compete with for PNMs or considered a higher tier house. When decisions need to be made, it's one of the easier factors for deciding to drop someone and keep someone else when it's getting difficult to narrow down the invite list.

DO NOT try to hide legacy info, because we will find out. But what you can do, is let us know straight out that you are a legacy, but during parties, emphasize that you are "open minded" and welcome to the idea of joining one of your non-legacy houses.

Those houses might have dropped you because they assumed you were going to your legacy because you didn't say anything. But if you said to them something like "yeah, I went to my legacy house, but I'm not really set on them and I'm really interested in what other houses have to offer and if they fit me better" then you MAY have made it through to the next round.
