be careful what you say to your rho gamma- really

Dear PNMs,
Your Rho Gamma is in a particular sorority. And she is looking out for the interest of her sorority. She is also friends with a lot of people in all the sororities and she will talk to them. She is there to help you. But you must be careful what you say to her. Assume anything you say will get back to the house you are talking about. If you need someone to bounce ideas and opinions off, your Rho Gamma is not that person. Call somebody that you trust who is no where near the campus. If you say anything bad about a house, it will probably get back to them, and even other houses. Treat your Rho Gamma like anyone else on the rush floor. Really . Just be nice. Be polite. Don't give opinions. Everything is great.

as much as I don't want to believe this, I think you might be right. I loved my rho gamma but the day before pref I was trying to decide whether to drop a sorority and so I talked to her about it. I dropped the sorority but the next day I found out they had dropped me back. My rho gamma was in that sorority. Maybe it was a coincidence but idk

very true. I learned my sorority knew things about me, that only my RG knew. And my RG wasn't in my sorority. word gets around.

This is so true. Anyone and everyone during rush very likely could report back. BE NICE AND HAPPY TO EVERYONE. If you really need to vent and rant, find a very private spot, and call someone who has no affiliation with the university and /or the particular sororities.. Do not trust your Rho Gamma. Be nice to her. Be positive about every thing.

You should be kind and polite to EVERYONE, not just your Rho Gam or members of sororities you like. It's part of being a good person and having manners. Aside from that, everyone knows someone. You have no idea how the negative things you say will get back to people. Every year PNMs get dropped by a lot of houses in all tiers because we've all heard about the despicable way they're treating others and what they're saying.

Yeah but Rho Gammas are supposed to be there to help girls sort through their issues and feelings. That could result in a girl inadvertently saying something unflattering about one sorority in comparison to another sorority. It's pretty messed up that Rho Gammas pretend that they are a confidential ear to bend, when they are really running back and telling everyone. I suppose it prepares everybody for real life. Nothing is confidential.

I'm sure she told the sorority. Come on - it is totally known that they do that. Rho Gammas are nice people, but they are "volunteering" for their own interests. Why not just get a bunch of old ladies to do it? People who have no affiliation to the groups.....why? Because Rho Gammas are there to spy.
