rush is 85% how you look and 15% everything else.
by: LookSo there is a lot of non-sense on here about grades, activities, letters of rec, legacy etc. All of those things all together make up about 15% of the process. Most of what it is all about is how do you look. The reality is that you will probably end up in a sorority with people who have a similar level of look as you. It doesn't mean they look like you. But as far as what society considers attractive - they will be within the range you are. Are there outliers in the whole thing? Sure. Occasionally, you see a gorgeous woman in a "lower tier" and an unattractive woman in an "upper tier." But all in all, you end up with people who are of the same looks as you. So, realize the you can't do a whole lot about it. Relax. Have fun. And join a sisterhood.

Since you don't even know how to spell nonsense, it's clear you're not in a top tier house. Maybe if your house paid more attention to the academics and personalities of PNMs instead of only looks, you'd actually become a respected house.
PNMs, don't believe this nonsense. Top houses look at the total package.

You seem to be really talking this personally. The OP was actually telling it like it is. Of course the "total package" matters. But the package is mostly about looks. I'm in a top house. Would we take somebody who is gorgeous and rude? No way. But that doesn't happen much. Most people are fairly polite and amicable during rush. Rather it is conscience or not, it does mostly go on looks. Why do you think people spend so much time talk about bring blotting sheets and touch up?
