not a legacy...can i still get my top choice?

I'm a Missouri girl, the first in my family to join a sorority. If I'm not a legacy at all, are many houses not going to consider me at all?

Some chapters honor legacy relationships heavier than others, like Chi O, but just because you're not a legacy doesn't mean you will not get into a great house.

How do you know what your top choice is before you've gone through rush? Go through rush with an open mind to ALL houses.

Every single year, the pledge classes for every house on campus include legacies to that house, legacies to other houses, and gidls with no legacies at all. Just relax.

I was in your same situation and things turned out well. Idk if not being a legacy hurt me (I'm sure XO & DDD didn't think it was cool) BUT I am in a top house and love my sisters. You cannot give what you don't have so be your personal best. Be well put together, personable, seem interested in those you are matched with, have a strong resume and get your REC letters and I do not believe not having a legacy will hold you back from a successful recruitment. The majority will want you if you are a strong canidate otherwise

It depends on the chapter whether not having a legacy hurts you but you should be proud for forging your own path. Your daughter will have a legacy because of you.

Rush is 80% looks and 20 % everything else. So. You will probably end up in a house that looks like you. Legacy, grades, recs etc. make a small difference, but it is mostly about looks.

Yes you can still get a top house! I was not a legacy but I am in a top house. Some things you can't change so just be your very best and friendliest and things will work out

Legacy is only a small part of the process so if you are a strong canidate this will not hold you back
