letters of rec/support

by: PNM

Hi,

I'm interested in rushing next year, but am a little confused. What is the difference between a letter of recommendation and a letter of support?

Thanks!

A REC letter is a standardized form you get for people to fill out while a letter of support is a personalized letter expressing why you would be a good fit for a chapter. RECS are a must while LOS are nice and helpful but not required. I know the website states REC are optional but with 1000 girls competing you need them!

REC letters are almost a must have while letters of support are not but they are always nice to have.

Basically these help set the stage for you before you come by introducing you to the chapters. They are worth the effort it takes to get them!

Both types of letters up chapters get to know you & they are used along with your transcript and other packet info to help groups choose who they will be most interested in when the process starts. Don't forget to clean up your social media too because it matters.

Yes/ if you don't have letters of support it shouldn't be a big deal but rec letters are needed.
