letter of rec

by: FutureFrog

How do I go about requesting letters of rec for sororities? Do the girls writing them have to be alums or can they be active members? I know certain schools take active as long as it is not their specific school. How do I find letters for sororities that I have no connection too? Can someone explain to me the letter of rec and the one? (I can't remember what it's called)
Thank you :)

I agree with all the suggestions but don't forget older siblings too

When I went through my Debutante presentation classes they asked all of us to fill out forms so the local alumni associations could do REC letters for us. Knowing what I know now, I would have preferred to do the work to find women I knew well to write these for me. I don't know if other people have had this experience (and things turned out fine) but I suggest finding your REC writers yourself and asking people who know your personality and can express that in their writings.

Use all resources because REC letters introduce you to houses before you arrive and do help determine where you are prioritized at least to start
