letter of rec

by:

How do I go about requesting letters of rec for sororities? Do the girls writing them have to be alums or can they be active members? I know certain schools take active as long as it is not their specific school. How do I find letters for sororities that I have no connection too? Can someone explain to me the letter of rec and the one? (I can't remember what it's called)
Thank you :)

Parents can reach out to co-workers & other connections even via their Facebook. Teachers, coaches, your parents friends. It takes effort but you can find them easier than you think. Well worth the effort.

Doing this plus contacting your local alumni groups should get you covered.

I would stay away from getting a rec from someone who is currently active in a sorority. Contact your local panhellenic association and they can help you out! Also ask your friends parents or parents that are active in your high school clubs!

You can do this easier than you think if you use all your parents, older sibs, teachers, co-worker...contacts. It's takes effort but it is necessary and worth your time.

Start with parents friends and people tgey know. Mine put a request up on her Facebook. Then go with other adults who know you well: coaches, teachers, co-workers, church members...IF you can not get at least two RECS for all our houses that way then look up your local alumni associations because they will write letters for you. I say do this last because those people can't make your REC as personal because they will likely just go off your resume.

Lots of good tips on this thread. Plus, do not underscore the importance of these letters. They introduce you to the chapters before recruitment begins. The work to gather them is well worth the effort.

If you know girls that are currently active in a chapter then asking them for a letter of support is a goid idea too.

All of the above methods are good. I just want girls to understand there will be around 1000 other girls going through recruitment with you so the importance of REC letters and Letters of Support cannot be over stated.
