Why would a sorority dirty rush you (tell you you're in blah blah blah) and then not give you a bid? Saw this was a pattern with a lot of people this year...........

When this happens, for the most part, I do not think they are trying to intentionally mislead. The individual that said that to you probably really liked you. However, that is just one vote of many. There is no way for one girl to promise you a bid because she really has no control or knowledge of how the entire group is voting.

I understand that and the same thing happened to me! But it hurts so much because all the girls I talked to in the house said they really liked me...I don't know what I did wrong...

From experience, you can get "exed out". Basically, if you're seen with a girl in that house outside of recruitment, you can potentially get crossed off any list they had. Many upper tier houses take blatant dirty rushing very seriously.

You did NOTHING wrong. Don't think that. There are a number of reasons you could have wound up lower on the bid list. They could have preffed a number of girls they really liked, or they could have had to put certain people higher for being a legacy or related to a member of the sorority. Don't look at it as a reflection on you because ultimately they're the ones missing out on not having you in the house. Just focus on the house you did get a bid to and try to be happy there. Don't think about what could have been.
