tridelt, really?

by:

I'm a Syracuse alum and a Tridelt. I have three daughters, the oldest of which is in the midst of recruitment. Like many of my sisters, I've dreamed of the day when she might have the opportunity to be both my daughter AND my sister. I also had high hopes that she might also go to SU. I've got to say that I am so glad that she chose a different college with a different tridelta chapter. Tridelt has always been a wonderful group of women at Syracuse, a chapter full of intelligent, ambitious and diverse women who are, active on campus and truly care about each other. WHat is going on at 300 Walniut Place? Ladies, you need to take a long, hard look at yourselves and what you are doing to this organization. Your reputation certainly preceeds you, and does and incredible disservice to the hundreds of women who were there before you. Get it together before it's too late.

I am a Greek alum from the early 2000s and caught wind of the video today.....from my perspective, little has changed with this chapter in the past decade. They were never know to be the genuine, kind girls for the most part. Definitely focus was on looks and reputation.

Actually, the fact that I am an adult, a parent, with a whole life long away from SU, and yet i DO still care speaks volumes. We had a wonderful sisterhood and I am still very close with a lot of the women who were in trideltt when I was. Lifelong friendships. We've been there for each other when we got married, had children, lost parents, got promotions....isn't THAT what sisterhood is all about? So of course I'm upset to hear that the current members seem to need to remember what is truly important and why our organization was founded. Once Greek, always Greek. And if you can't understand that, then your chapter isn't doing its job.

What's sad is that this is your first reaction to what this woman said. If you don't care about where your chapter is several years from now then clearly being in a sorority never meant anything to you. It's one thing to go on here and troll and post a lot post-grad, but this video is a big deal and the women in tridelt should take it seriously and as a wake up call to make a change in their own sorority. The fact that a concerned alum comes here and speaks out is to be expected IMO. This could go viral.

Thanks to seriously. That's exactly my point. My intention was never to join a sorority for four years. It was to form "perpetual bonds of friendship." I'd say I am lucky to have that, but we worked really hard to keep our sisterhood strong when I was a Tridelt at Syracuse, and the benefits have been immense! I feel badly for women who join a sorority, whether it's Tridelt, even my own chapter of Tridelt, or any other group, looking only for the social benefits of a few short years. The opportunity is there for o much more. It isn't always easy, it isn't always fun, but it is always worth it.

Still go here??? Her timing with recruitment was intentional for sure. I would be scared if I were her!

What are they going to do? Beat her up? She didn't call them out specifically in the video. People just know that she was part of that sorority. If that stuff really happened then it's their own fault that someone publicly spoke out about it and maybe the should take the hint to change their attitude.
