sophomore rushing

by:

As a sophomore girl, what are the REALISTIC chances that a sorority will want you to be part of their house? Would it be hard to make friends with girls in your sorority? It is normal/acceptable to rush late?

Everyone needs to calm down about the "sophomore quota"....it's just as normal for a sophomore to go through recruitment as a freshman....though there are less of them that sign up since other sophomores either went Greek already in their first year or don't have an interest. It's not about your year (sophomore vs. freshman...though if you're a junior forget it, realistically)...but WHO YOU ARE AS A PERSON. Go in with a positive, open mind to the whole experience and you'll find your fit. No, it's not hard to mark friends. You won't be "ostracized" by your pledge class b/c you're older....and there will definitely be other new sophomores by your side anyway. If anything, it's a leg up because you're a year older and might clique better with the upperclassmen. Don't even worry another minute.

you might get asked why you didn't rush first year....so just be honest like "i was focusing on school" or "i didn't know much about it"....not "i thought the greek system sucked" or something like that.

I rushed as a sophomore and made friends with a large group of sophomores during rush. None of us got called back to "top" houses, we all seemed to keep returning to the same houses. There is definitely a stigma.
