Why do women deactivate by senior year and men do not (generally)?

A VERY small percentage of the women who are active members of a Greek organization on campus deactivate at any point, so this question has no basis.

Pledging bonds brothers. For life- if it's done right. Anyone who has actually done the real thing knows that. That's why they don't deactivate. I find it pretty hard to believe girls can bond like that with 40+ other girls.
