rushing?
by: SarahI'm a freshman and I don't have the grades to rush. Should I informally rush (if so, how do I do that) or just wait until next year? Is it even worth rushing a sorority as a sophomore? I was really looking forward to rushing. Thanks!

Yes, you can definitely rush as a sophomore---either fall (depending on what houses do informal recruitment) or spring. I joined as a sophomore. Some houses do tend to prefer freshman only so they don't have as much turnover in graduating classes, but others are more open. I think it kind of depends on the make-up of the current chapter at that time and tradition/preference. A lot of houses also cut beyond the Pahel GPA cutoff...like if Pahel is 2.5, some would cut anyone under a 2.7. Good luck!
