The cob process
by: OttobbCan someone explain the cob process and how it differs from formal recruitment?

COB is continuous open bidding for the first 2-3 weeks of the new member process. Each house does it differently but they’ll usually host events at their house or you’ll go out on a coffee date with a sister. It’s very chill, but not all houses offer it (it’s usually only AGD and Dphie) Panhel will post all of the info in the next couple of days!

COB is an individual sorority thing, not really a coordinated process like formal recruitment. Panhellenic sets Chapter Total, which is the maximum allowed membership number for the chapters, and any house below Total can COB up to that number if they want to. Chapters that are only a few below Total will not usually announce COB and will be more on the DL about it so as to not mislead and be inundated with hopeful girls. Chapters that have more spots to fill will be actively looking so keep an eye out for announcements on socials and ask people you know who are members. You can reach out to any chapter you are interested in and see what happens, they can't read your mind.
