Is it worth it to rerush

by: Helppp

Is it worth it to rerush as a sophomore? Am I more likely to be cut because I am a sophomore?

Nothing wrong with rushing next spring or doing COB in the fall, depending on the houses that are doing it. Sophomores do get bids, no matter what others say.

Quota means the maximum number that the sororities can take during recruitment, not a required minimum, and Quota basically sets itself after pref. There is no requirement for a chapter to take anyone by grade and the chapters don't have internal quotas or reserved spots or anything like that either. The chapters choose who they want based on however they want to do it and if they love a sophomore there is no question that they want her and will take her to pref.

They can drop you for any reason, but I've never heard of anyone dropping someone for rushing
again fr.

Rerushing is not shameful in any way and you would not be judged for it. Girls are often more prepared the second time around so they know what to expect and aren't so overwhelmed, and that can come across as confident which is always a plus. Just make sure you are being NICE to EVERYONE on campus so that you will have a good reputation and get out there and meet sorority members to improve your chances.

SOOOO many girls drop out of rush freshman year and many of them give it another try either through COB or formal recruitment the next spring. Unless you made a crazy fool of yourself during parties this year or wore something super weird/inappropriate, odds are that NOBODY will remember you. (I don't mean that in a mean way, I mean it that with 1200 girls coming through recruitment it's impossible for anyone to remember everyone.) When you say you're a sophomore, you might get asked "Oh, why did you decide to rush this year and not last?" You are in control of that answer---I wouldn't pretend this is your first time through, but you could either say it didn't work out for you or you could say you got sick halfway through and had to drop or something like that that (a white lie). Either way, nobody is scouring last year's party invites (not like they get saved anyway!) and scrutinizing you! Definitely try again! You will be way more confident in the process and yourself:)
